For over ten years we have allowed access to Twitter on WF1/2/3 but blocked this on WF4. This decision was made after speaking to Head Teachers and Governor groups many years ago. It is important to note of course that schools do have the capability to override these types of rules that HFL have configured centrally.
However, after recent changes to Twitter, as well as the increase in inappropriate content, we’ve decided to align Twitter with other social networking sites and make them by default, only accessible on the WF1 filtering policy. This may not work for everyone and Schools may wish to have Twitter more accessible. Rest assured that this still can be achieved by making local changes within a school’s SafetyNet account.
